How to Use Soap Embed Paper
-
Design Your ArtworkUse any design software (or even Word) to lay out your images or text. Mirror the image if necessary (depending on how you embed it).
-
Print on Inkjet PrinterUse only inkjet printers. Print on the smooth side of the embed paper using regular ink (avoid pigment inks that may smear or bleed).
-
Cut to SizeAfter the ink dries, cut your design to fit the soap mold or embed layer.
-
Pour a Clear Soap Base LayerPour a thin layer of clear melt-and-pour soap into your mold and let it cool slightly until tacky.
-
Place the Printed PaperGently place the cut paper printed side down into the soap. Smooth out bubbles with a clean spatula or finger.
-
Pour the Remaining SoapOnce the embed is in place, pour the rest of your soap over it. You can use a white or colored soap base behind the embed to make the image pop.
-
Let Set and UnmoldAllow the soap to harden fully before unmolding. The design will be clearly visible inside the bar!
Tips for Best Results
-
Use clear melt-and-pour soap for the top layer to ensure visibility.
-
Avoid handling the printed image too much to prevent smudging.
-
Allow ink to dry thoroughly before embedding (some crafters seal it with hairspray or Mod Podge, but it’s optional).

Store printed sheets flat and in a dry place until use.
